Job Description
POSITION: Caretaker / Handyperson
SALARY: £25,259 p/a plus £120 per week when on call
BENEFITS: Contributory Pension Scheme, plus 28 days holiday
(Including Bank Holidays) and other benefits detailed below – plus use of Company Vehicle
HOURS: 35 hours per week Mon – Fri 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. (plus ability to attend emergencies when on call – 1 week per month on rota basis)
LOCATION: Various Schemes (Croydon area) CR0 5FJ

DESCRIPTION:
Eldon Housing Association is a well-established provider of supported housing for older people. It is extremely important to us that our homes are maintained to a high standard, allowing us to fulfil our mission to provide accessible and sustainable housing to meet the individual requirement of people in need in the Croydon and Mid-Sussex area.
We are looking for a Caretaker/Handyperson to work as part of our Facilities Management team.
Responsibilities
As Caretaker/Handyperson you will be responsible for carrying out a range of general maintenance and caretaking tasks, including first line response to reactive repairs, minor repairs and decorating as well as weekly and monthly planned maintenance testing/checking. You will report directly to the Facilities Manager.
Key Skills and Experience
You may have proven experience within a similar role or be in a manual trade or a self- employed handyperson looking for a new challenge in a role that can not only put your skills to good use but also offer job satisfaction. As this role is mobile, across various sites you will need to be able to manage your time effectively and be able to work off your own initiative, with a keen eye for detail and a good awareness of health and safety.
You will be required to enter our care homes and meet with our residents, therefore it is essential that you are respectful and sensitive to our residents needs and privacy and demonstrate a warm and caring attitude at all times.
As this role requires travel between our schemes and include an on-call rota you will need a full, clean driving licence.
