Job Description
100% remote – Can be based in Ireland, UK or Spain
Global team with global customers
€65k – €70k base + benefits
Our client is a leading and award winning ISP that has been in operation over 20 years with several offices around the world. They have had significant growth in recent time from a customer perspective and are now on the lookout for a Cloud Engineer to join their Systems Operations Cloud team on a permanent basis.
You would be apart of a global team currently spread across several locations working on the implementation and support of Cloud Services for their external customers.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Deploy private cloud infrastructure for new and existing customers
Maintain existing internal and external private cloud infrastructure
Identify and deliver technical projects and tasks
Troubleshoot and resolve tickets
Perform regular maintenance and patching
Identify and resolve potential issues
Script repetitive tasks and leverage automation whenever possible
Work under and learn from senior team members
Develop and document processes
Train and assist level 1 engineers
Provide level 2 support
Communicate with and maintain customer relationships
Take initiative to remediate issues with little direction
Perform under limited oversight and direction
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:
Individuals should have acquired a Degree level qualification in Computer Science or equivalent
5+ years’ experience in a similar role implementing Cloud Solutions across multiple Platforms (AWS, Azure, VMware)
Proven experience delivering end to end cloud solutions in both the public and/or private cloud space
Great organizational skills with ability to multi-task is essential
You need to be able to plan and prioritize work effectively to ensure we work as a team
So you can succeed, you need to be able to take responsibility for own work, ensuring it is accurate, meets quality standards, and performed on a timely basis
Individuals must also have a proven record of working in a team environment and have demonstrated the ability to work in a collaborative manner between groups on an international basis as well as showing strong individual initiative
Possess intermediate knowledge and experience in some of the following areas:
AWS Cloud Services (Build & Support)
Microsoft Azure Cloud Services (Build & Support)
Automation (Python, PowerShell or similar)
DevOps & Infrastructure as Code Tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
Networking & Firewalls (Cisco Datacenter Networking, ASA Firewalls, HPE Networking, Software Defined Networking & Edge Services)
Microsoft Environments (Windows Server, Active Directory and Domain Services)
Linux Systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS or SUSE)
Cloud Security Fundamentals
SAN & Storage systems (Nutanix, Nimble, Object Storage, VSAN)
Backup & Recovery Solutions (Veeam, Asigra, Storage)
