Job Description

Search Logistics are exclusively partnering with a leading international Logistics business. They are seeking a Head of Operations to take overall control of the Operational aspects of the multiple DC's, with a view to progression to Logistics Director within an agreed time period of, transition with the current GM (NJ)

DIRECT REPORTS:

Warehouse Managers DC1/DC2/DC3, European Account Manager, Quality Manager, Health & Safety Lead/Manager

WORKS ALONG SIDE:

General Manager Freight, Financial Controller, HR Manager, Quality Team

ROLE

Responsible and accountable for all Operational and Customer Service functions within the 3PL/E-Commerce/Production silo's of the business
Driving operational and process change to ensure the business is at the forefront of modern technology and working practices
Ensuring that all contractual obligations are fulfilled for all clients, SLA's and KPI's are met
Onboarding new clients
Budgeting and cost control, client profitability management
Responsible for all software systems used to run the various contracts, including but not exclusive to Access Delta, Mintsoft, Cargowise, Brightpearl, Warewolf. Driving change and suggesting new systems if required.
Responsible for all client billing – produced accurately in the correct formats in the required timescale
Responsible for management of supplier contracts including all mechanical handling equipment, systems, carriers and transport
Responsible for oversight with resourcing and manpower and the efficient use of headcount across the multiple DC's through each site operational manager
Mentoring and development of direct reports

E-Commerce Detail – focus has been building the company ECOM footprint in The Netherlands around successful UK & US based brands that had a desire to grow into the EU market or UK brands that needed to position stock in the EU to continue to support their EU consumer client bases.

Stakeholder Management – The starting point will be reporting along side the current General Manager, Leading into Operations Director where the candidate will be fully responsible for the day to day running of the business reporting business performance (Financially & Operationally) directly to the Group Executive Board.

European Strategy – Build the ECOM business with more boutique brands, steering away from huge volume low margin ECOM business, the client have aspirations & opportunities in the pipeline to further expand into Belgium & France, where it is likely they will target a mixture of business.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Educated to degree level preferred although not essential

Experience within working in a 3PL multi-user environment up to senior Operations

Technically proficient with an excellent understanding of business process, new client implementation and Warehouse Management Systems

Multi-site experience is a necessity

Drive and determination to make change where necessary and to move the business forward

Customer facing experience at a senior level
