We’re seeking for a multi-skilled Handyperson to join us on a part time basisto, provide a high-quality maintenance, cleaning and minor repairs service to the communal areas in bpha’s extra care housing schemes.
What you will be doing:
*
To provide cleaning to the refuse store weekly and ensuring the emptying of the communal bins as depicted by the rota from the local authority.
*
To conduct daily site inspections, reporting and recording repair, maintenance
*
To complete weekly and monthly Health and Safety walkabouts ensuring issues are reported to the necessary departments within bpha.
*
To carry out general basic maintenance and minor repairs as required including minor decoration, changing light bulbs, reading meters, adjusting time switches, lock changes and fittings in communal areas, ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times

To provide cover at other sites as and when required.
We’d love to meet someone with:

Ability to complete minor repairs and building maintenance
*
Understanding of the needs of older people
*
Understanding of Health & Safety – including legionella, fire safety and COSHH
*
Ability to communicate with contractors and other bpha departments
*
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
*
Can demonstrate a flexible and willing attitude to work
*
Can demonstrate basic IT skills
