Job Description
Global FMCG business require an Import & Customs Clerk on a 12 month FTC. Applicants should have experience within international logistics, shipping or imports and exports. Either freight forwarding experience or in-house, would work well in this role.
The Import & Customs Clerk will report to the Import & Customs Manager. They will focus on the importation of products from the Far East and Europe into the UK. The Import & Customs Clerk will work within a busy and supportive team.
Specific duties of the Import & Customs Clerk include:
Submission of import declarations
Support customs brokers with timely submission of declarations
Internal liaison and stakeholder engagement
Ensure adherence to customs processes and regulations
Support colleagues handling export movements
Import & Customs Clerk applicants should meet the following criteria:
Willingness to work a 12 month FTC
Comfortable with hybrid working
Experience of international logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, importing or exporting
Knowledge of importing, customs processes, codes and classifications etc
Excellent communication, relationship and stakeholder engagement skills
