Job Description
Our client, a highly regarded leading 4th party logistics provider for the Aerospace, Automotive and Industrial sectors, is recruiting an Ocean Logistics Co-ordinator to based in offices in the London Heathrow area.

Main Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to Air / Ocean Team Leader, handling ocean export freight forwarding operations from start to finish. Deliver high quality transportation solutions through the effective communication with both customers and suppliers to ensure the customers’ needs are satisfied in relation to quality, cost, and delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Execute ocean export freight forwarding and transportation activities in accordance with all customer service requirements
* Adhere to operational margins by customer
* Ensure on-time delivery of cargo by tracking loads through to delivery and providing customer updates, where necessary
* Utilise problem solving tools to implement corrective actions with suppliers when needed
* Provide world class customer service, and take ownership for assigned customers
* Actively identify savings opportunities through load consolidation activities
* Communicate with shippers and suppliers to ensure maximization of container utilization
* Enter accurate data into system for booking, tracking and billing shipments
* Complete invoicing to customers as per company standards
* Ensure all business is conducted in accordance with the company’s operational and safety procedures, as per the company Control Manual, and Delegation of Authority
To Be Considered:
* Proven experience in ocean freight export operations
* Experience of ocean freight trade-lanes and markets (Americas/APAC/Europe)
* Operational experience of Ocean planning processes
* Good knowledge of Marine Transport regulations
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work under deadlines
* Excellent communication skills – internal and external (written and verbal)
* Export Logistics experience within control tower enviroment, preferred
* Working knowledge of transport documentation, carrier invoices, and billing procedures
* Ability to demonstrate analytical and logical thinking to solve problems
* Previous experience using Cargowise.
