The Company
Highfield Professional Solutions are proud to be representing a leading design consultancy who specialise in rail design among other areas. You will work on a one the UK's leading projects in a Multi-Discipline capacity on the Transpennine Route Upgrade.
The Position
Our client is looking for a Principal Project Manager to join their already successful team to work closely with the project team on one of their most prestigious projects. The role offers an opportunity for hybrid working and exposure to very interesting projects.
Role and Responsibilities
Maximise operating efficiency, so that projects portfolio is delivered in compliance with the Project Control System to agreed standards and targets
Implement quality improvements when opportunities present themselves
Act quickly and decisively to rectify any difficult circumstances that threaten the delivery of the quality and programme agreed with the client
Define and manage programme of projects and provide regular updates – ensuring that there is suitable resource available
Forecast and monitor the financial performance of the project's portfolio, providing monthly update reports as a minimum
Ensure compliance with HSE and Assurance regulations
Carry out line management duties as required by the team
Approve expenditure within limits of delegated authority Manage, develop, coach and motivate employees in the project team
Maintain and develop key client contacts to maximise future business opportunities Support the development of new business by involvement on key client management process, tendering and winning workExperience and Skills Required
Achieved MEng, BEng or equivalent CEng or have relevant industry experience.
Computer literate and be able to competently use systems such as MS Projects, Primavera and other Project management software
Experience of managing design projects within a consultancy
