Job Description
We are working exclusively with secondary schools in the St Helens area, who are looking for passionate teaching assistants, who are looking to pursue a career in education. A career as a teaching assistant could also support transition from university, teaching assistant qualifications or health sector career. A teaching assistant (TA), is a support worker for a teacher in a classroom. Their job is to help with the teacher's duties, helping them with all sorts of tasks.
A TA will be involved in general classroom support, 1-1 interventions or small group interventions to ensure students of all needs are fully supported. You are expected to enforce classroom rules and reinforce lessons to help students as they complete work.
The schools are mainstream secondary school and they require teaching assistants to work in various classes and departments across key stage 3 & 4.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will have a bachelors degree and have recent experience working in a UK school. Or perhaps someone who has worked in care, and wishes to pursue a career in Education.

Minimum rate of Pay: £75 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3.45pm
Teaching Assistants experience, training, and qualification
Experience working in a UK school
Relevant childcare qualification
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (this training can be offered by Prospero)To be eligible for this Teaching Assistant role:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide a minimum of two professional child related referencesOTHER
