CMMS Engineer – Gas Storage

MC Technical Recruitment are seeking a CMMS Engineer / Asset Maintenance Planner to join one of the largest underground gas storage facilities in the country located near Basingstoke. The site provides strategic gas storage services, that contribute to balancing gas supply and demand, within the National Gas transmission System (NTS). They are now preparing for significant further investment in its existing assets and revenue streams. The CMMS Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining updates to the sites computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) whilst supporting the operations, maintenance, and engineering departments.

As the CMMS Engineer you will report to the site Asset Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

Acting as the subject matter expert on the CMMS, ensuring preventative maintenance is scheduled, issued and signed off as well as corrective maintenance activities being appropriately raised and signed off
Maintain accurate and complete records within the CMMS
Working alongside the Maintenance Manager to continually develop and improve the CMMS and phased implementation upgrade plan
Prepare and develop the work schedule for planned and reactive maintenance activities ensuring work is coordinated to ensure safety and on target completion of work
Maintain the CMMS alongside the system provider ensuring any troubleshooting issues are dealt with in a cost-effective manner
Work with the site Stock Controller to ensure sufficient stock is available to complete planned maintenance activities
Assist the Maintenance Manager in developing short- and long-term budgeting strategies
To be considered for this role you should meet the following criteria:

The ideal candidate will be qualified in an engineering discipline to HND/HNC level or similar
At least 5 years of experience in a planning or scheduling role in a hands-on Technician or Engineer role or similar
An engineering background in a heavy industrial environment such as power, oil & gas, manufacturing, steel, chemical, paper production etc.
An excellent understanding of maintenance management and management of change systems used in the engineering sector
Practical knowledge of a site CMMS/EAM (Maximo, SAP, Pirana etc) from a management, user and/or implementation perspective
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skill
