We have partnered with one of the UK's leading providers of mental health conditions, learning disabilities, brain injuries and other complex needs. We are actively recruiting Staff Nurses for one of their specialist hospitals based in South London that provides support for men and women with complex mental health conditions. They believe in supporting their patients to get better and move forward in their lives. This specialist hospital provides care across a range of services including PICU, Acute Mental Health and Residential services.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Working alongside the senior Staff Nurses as a Staff Nurse will work to ensure that exceptional care is always delivered to your patients. You will work to undertake and manage direct patient care, having participated fully in the assessment, planning and evaluation of their care needs. You will build relationships with your patients and their family members, instilling trust so communication is open and honest. Part of your role will involve administration of medication and monitoring the results of the treatment. At times you will have to deal with distressed patients and support them to manage their emotions through de-escalation techniques. Your role will also involve preparing and maintaining accurate patient records as well as carrying out risk assessments. At times you will also be assigned various other ad hoc duties by senior members of staff.
REQUIREMENTS
Be an NMC registered mental health nurse
Have a passion for high quality patient safety and care
Have experience in acute mental health a passion to want to get into either of these areas
Have the willingness to undergo further training and development to broaden your skill set
Be a caring and compassionate nurse with good organisational and time management skills.
Adapt easily to new situations and be able to build strong working relationships within the team
