Job Description
Role: Quality Engineer
– Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 + Pension + benefits

As the Quality Engineer, you’ll report into the SHEQ Manager and will be fundamental in the development and growth of the quality function within the plant. Other key duties include the following;
* Control & and Analysis of Non-conforming product to ensure 0 Customer Quality spills
* Quality department representative for new product development projects.
* Quality department representative for product related troubleshooting in the factory and advise production technicians on acceptable level of Quality.
* Drive Root cause Analysis activities to conclusion to ensure effective corrective actions.
* Oversee product testing for new tooling and material qualification.
* Ensure processes are followed as per written procedures and documentation provides evidence of these efforts.
* Undertake regular quality evaluation on key products and agree tool improvements with the toolroom when required.
* Responsible for the up-keep of migration certification
* Responsible for the up-keep of calibration records for the site
* Responsible for QC manuals / procedures and training of QTLs
* Upkeep of Technical specifications
* Trend quality data to highlight common and repeat issues.
* Take responsibility for your own and your colleagues Health & Safety
* Ensure Health & Safety and environmental standards are adhered to at all times
* Report any Health & Safety breaches witnessed or concerns regarding unsafe practices to site management.
To be successful as the Quality Engineer, you’ll ideally have the following skills and experience;
* 5+ years in a quality engineering role within a busy manufacturing environment.
* Experience working within an Automotive, Aerospace, General Manufacturing or Plastic Packaging industry would be highly desirable
* Auditing experience is essential (ISO9001 – Essential, 14001 & 45001 – Desirable)
* BRC Experience is also highly desirable
* Problem solving Tools & techniques (8D, 5Y, FMEA)
* Six Sigma certified, a benefit.
* Working knowledge of Quality Tools (APQP, NPI, SPC, Launch gateways)
* Quality KPI management
* Good Communication skills, working across multiple stakeholders
* Flexibility and Prioritisation of tasks.
* Ability to follow multiple processes and procedures correctly.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Hands on approach to Quality, ‘can do’ attitude
