Regional Safeguarding Lead | Qualified Nurse or Social Worker
Home-based with travel
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (may be negotiable DOE) + £7350 Car allowance + mileage

Remit
Compass Associates are proudly working with a leading provider of mental health, learning disabilities and neurorehabilitation services, to recruit a full time permanent Regional Safeguarding Lead who is a qualified Social Worker or Nurse.
As Regional Safeguarding Lead, you will be the part of the Complex Care, Learning Disabilities and Autism Division where you would be the point of escalation and specialist lead for safeguarding training, best practice and concerns. You would report directly into the Group Head of Quality, Safeguarding and Compliance, and work with the Regional Directors to ensure service users are receiving high quality, safe and effective care and support. You will also provide safeguarding, PREVENT and Mental Capacity training as part of company inductions or refresher courses.
An important aspect of your role is to liaise, keep in regular contact and form positive working relationships with external stakeholders and statutory agencies such as CCGs, CQC, local authorities and community adult services. Each site has a Designated Safeguarding Lead with whom you'd meet regularly to provide support, senior advice and safeguarding supervisions.
You will be based from home and your remit will include one hospital in Grimsby and several complex care/residential homes in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. You would also have oversight of some services in London and the South East (mainly remotely or over the phone unless a visit is required). Your working week will involve 3-4 days travelling to visit sites with the remaining 1-2 days working from home.
Home-based but the main sites are commutable from: Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Nottingham, Sheffield Rotherham, Barnsley, Worksop, Goole, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Gainsborough, Leeds, Huddersfield, Grantham, Boston, Newark, Sleaford, Hull, York and surrounding towns.
The Candidate
Essential criteria:
Must be a qualified Social Worker or Nurse
Must have current registration with Social Work England or the NMC
UK driving licence and own car
Significant experience and knowledge of safeguarding, DOLS and the Mental Capacity Act
Additional training in safeguarding and PREVENT
Experience within adult mental health and/or learning disabilities services
Interview Process
Formal interview with the Regional Operations Director and Head of Quality, Safeguarding and Compliance.
